The normal pyro and Smackdown opening.
John Cena opened the show with a challenge to Edge for the World Title. Instead, he got Vickie Guererro, who informed him that he will instead face the Big Show later in the show
1. Carlito and Primo defeated The Miz and John Morrison to retain the WWE Tag Titles. A good match with a couple of botched moves. At one point, the Bella Twins came to ringside to observe the match. They left with Primo and Carlito, although one of the twins looked back at Miz and Morrison to suggest that she wasn't necessarily happy to leave with Carlito.
2. Big Show defeated John Cena. Show won via chokeslam after Edge's distraction.
3. Vladmir Kozlov pinned the Undertaker. It was a clean pin after a power slam, which followed Undertaker's "old school" attempt. Biggest upset of the night.
The Brother vs. Brother match with Jeff vs. Matt never took place. Jeff refused to fight Matt.
4. Chavo Guererro defeated Shelton Benjamin via roll-up. MVP was a guest on commentary. Benjamin was more concerned with MVP at ringside and allowed Chavo a quick 1-2-3. Benjamin threw Chavo into MVP at one point. No heat to this match at all. In fact, the arena was mostly silent when the pinfall occurred. Nobody was expecting it. MVP hit the Drive By Kick on Benjamin moments later.
End of show.
Dark Match Main Event
1. Undertaker defeated Big Show in a casket match. This lasted about 60 seconds, probably less. Kicks and punches to Big Show, who got rolled in the casket and with the lid slammed shut. There was more psychology in those last three sentences than the entire "match." The funniest part however, was after Undertaker left. They opened the lid and the Big Show rolled out of the casket and flopped around on the mat with the heebie-jeebies like he bugs crawling all over him. It was pretty funny and seeing the sight of somebody as large as Show do something like. It was worth the short duration of our dark match main event.
Biggest Pops:
1) John Cena
2) Jeff Hardy/Undertaker
3) Ric Flair (during the Wrestlemania 24 highlight clips)
Biggest Heat:
1) Vickie Guerrero (seriously, this woman has tremendous heat. Eddie would be proud)
2) Edge
Other notes: The show looked to be about 90 percent or more sold. Most of the arena was filled; even the hard camera side. We saw R-Truth and The Brian Kendrick hanging out with referee Mike Chioda in the parking lot before the show. Kendrick didn't appear on the show, however. Our tickets stated a 5:45 p.m. "start time," but the arena doors didn't open until well after 6:00 p.m.
