Reports surfaced on Friday that a knee injury would effect Frank Mir's ability to train for his upcoming UFC 98 Heavyweight title bout and would force him out of the match with Brock Lesnar that would see he two big men unify the title again for the first time since Randy Couture left the UFC with title in tow in late 2007.

Although it was reported that the bout would still be on for 98, plans have changed and the title bout has been moved to UFC 100 in July. The announcement was made last night during the UFC 96 Pay Per View.

Mir, who won his half of the right to call himself heavyweight champ in December with a stunning TKO finish of interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will be looking to become the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in his career. He first wore the strap after winning the crown, and breakng Tim Sylvia's arm in the process, at UFC 48 in 2004.

Lesnar on the other hand is just a relative newcomer to the sport, holding a 3-1 record, the lone loss coming to Frank Mir. His name value earned him a shot at Randy Couture in 2008 and he would capitalize on the chance, needing just two rounds to stop the UFC Hall of Famer.

It's a rematch that could really show how far along Lesnar has come since losing to Mir at the start 2008. Although he would be submitted in the first round on what appeared to be a rookie mistake, Lesnar was poundig on Mir and doing damage during the opening moments of the bout.
